Learn About the Three Types of Systems Essential for Your MLM Lead Generation Efforts.

Theories are great, except when they are not grounded in reality. I am about to share with you one of the key reasons why most people in the Network Marketing industry crash and burn, leaving a tangled wreck of unfulfilled expectations, broken dreams and maxed out credit cards.

The Network Marketing and MLM industry is one which has emerged over the past 30 years as an ‘opportunity’ for the average person to become their own boss, and potentially make a lot of money working from home and on their own terms.

Now, this is all very nice in theory. But like so many theories, it falls dramatically short of expectations in reality. The harsh reality is that 97% of people involved in this industry fail to make any money at all, and in fact, most are left substantially out of pocket. The reasons for this are many and varied.

To begin with, the marketing of these ‘biz opps’ tends to promote the idea that it is a quick and easy way to get rich. There are two major problems with this.

We’ve all seen the headlines “Absolutely anyone can do this business”, “These products are so good they virtually sell themselves”, “We’ll hold your hand every step of the way”, “You don’t need any money to get started” and so on.

Now, it is not within the scope of this article to comment on each of these outrageous claims individually, but suffice it so say, if you are ever pitched on a business opportunity and any of these statements are involved in the conversation, the red flag should be going up in your mind.

There is no quick and easy way to build a legitimate and profitable business. Period.

The second is that this marketing tends to attract the wrong types of people. Those with a ‘lottery mentality’. Those who are looking for an easy ride. Those who have the tendency towards instant gratification, and little personal discipline and endurance over the long term. This mindset is not conducive to building a stable business.

And even worse, a savvy minded business person will see straight through this marketing. The exact type of person you would want to attract, and who would be likely to do very well, will be turned off by claims like this. Anyone with half a brain would have to realize that at best, this is highly misleading.

So the expectations and mindset of the person coming into the industry are a very important determining factor of their success or otherwise. But beyond that, what else trips people up?

Today, those who are involved in network marketing or MLM who are not positioned to run their businesses online are at a distinct disadvantage. In fact, that does not just relate to this industry. As Bill Gates has recently said “If you are in business and you are not online, you are not in business”.

Usually it’s something trivial like technology… which is a real shame, given that there are now so many excellent outsourcing services available to online business people. And not understanding how the technology works as a part of an overall sales and marketing system can also paralyze you. Creating Your Lead Capture Systems

What most online network marketing gurus fail to explain is that you actually need 2 different lead capture systems, in order to effectively recruit for your opportunity.

(Hybrid System) The first system is designed to establish a relationship and educate your prospect. Essentially this stage warms them up and allows you to demonstrate your leadership qualities and knowledge.

(Opportunity System) The second system is designed to "show the plan". This system is focused on educating and selling your prospect on your opportunity. (Sometimes this is already provided by your company.)

Generally, you want to lead with the system focused on establishing a relationship with your prospect. The reason for this is that most people today are very skeptical and you need to get past their defenses and get them to trust and like you, before you present an offer to them.

If you try to lead with the opportunity system and they have no idea who you are or what the opportunity is about, they will be far less likely to take the business opportunity offer seriously. The only exception would be if your prospect is specifically looking to join your specific opportunity.

Hybrid System

The reason I call this a "hybrid system" is because the ultimate goal is to lead your prospect towards your business opportunity, but you lead with generic value, education and your story.

So for the most part, 90% of the content you provide to your prospects will be generic and help them, regardless of what opportunity they are with.

To lead people towards your business, you can do a few of things:

I am sure you can come up with some more creative ways of passively introducing your business to your prospect.

But here’s a warning…

In the case of #3, people are actually paying for the product so the value you provide in that front-end product should OVER DELIVER with valuable generic training. Failure to do this, will result in huge headaches and destroy your credibility online.

Opportunity System  

Now, once someone has requested more information on your business opportunity via your opportunity capture page, this system should explain a few things:

Even though it may seem like you are free to make a direct pitch, you should still provide value and entertain.

Make it worth their while to read through your entire presentation. Also, use videos and audio as part of your presentation. You’ll want to be as professional as possible.

If you opportunity allows it, you may even want to write a sales letter for your opportunity.

So, there you have it… a quick blueprint so you can get started on developing your system.

But the system is only one piece of the puzzle…
