Have you put a lot of time, effort and money into creating videos for your business and have not got the response you were hoping to receive? Do you eagerly check your You Tube Channel to see your total view count and how much has changed since your last check?(Seriously, was that just me that does that…ok?!) Are you thinking that Video Marketing is not for you and you should try something else? Do you feel like you one tiny fish in the big internet ocean?

Stop right there, don’t put video marketing to the waste side, this is an exceptional way people can connect with you, your story and above all your brand. Your on the right track you need to start to cause a commotion. (cue in song…‘Cause a Commotion’ by Madonna)…

You may already be doing this for others and your not even aware of it!!! Someone sends you a link to a video and you think it’s hilarious and forward it on to others on your social media websites. Now, that is what I am referring to as ‘Causing a Commotion’.
Let’s start with building traffic first, one option you have is placing an appropriate video on your lead page and have it set up to automatically open when the lead page is opened. You Tube will take notice of your video once your view count starts to increase and promote it as a ‘recommended view’ scenario to anyone that views a video of similar subject.

Share your video with your social network and encourage a conversation based on the topic, you will notice an increase in views and the start of a dialogue. People are more likely to comment if the conversation has already begun and it’s through this conversation and the increase in views that helps you to cause a commotion with your videos.

To wrap up, attaching a video to your lead page, website, Facebook fan page helps to increase your view count. (Always ensure your video provides value to others). Your videos need to be so enticing that they encourage people to provide comments (great social proof) and share with others. You Tube take note of this and as your view totals build you get a higher ranking and your video becomes one of the videos that You Tube will recommend to viewers that are watching something similar.
