There are certain reasons why people quit an MLM type business and if you’re at the receiving end and are really committed to growing your own business you need to know the signs and how you can safe guard your business from these types of people. What makes someone decide to start a business then quit? Here are three scenarios of people are on the verge of quitting and suggestions around what you can do.

Scenario 1- A person may not have fully committed to the decision they’ve made. This creates a lack of motivation which allows any distraction i.e. watching TV, internet, social media etc to stop them from working on their business. There is no amount of fantastic training you could offer because they are not interested.

Scenario 2 -They started to make a quick buck. Their focus is not helping others succeed, its purely about making money for themselves quickly. They picture themselves getting lots of money by doing very little. Anyone with any success in the home based business industry knows that there is a level of discipline and hard work required to build your brand and your business, there is no easy way out.

Scenario 3 There are others that don’t stay focused on the results they are aiming to achieve. They focus on hours of training without implementing any of the new techniques they have learnt, they want to be ‘ready’ and are taking lots of time to get to their ads perfect. In other words, they get bogged down in the detail, create no momentum and decide it’s all too hard.

What can you do?

Scenario One & Two- Their enthusiasm is short lived and they are not giving their business the focus it deserves because probably deep down they are not willing to believe that its possible to be successful anyway. It’s also a part of human nature to quit when the going gets tough. It’s less painful than learning something new.

Consider your ads and any discussions you have upfront with new members. What is the expectations your setting? You don’t want to encourage this type of person to your business so take care in the way you promote your business and opportunity.

Scenario Three- If you can see this pattern developing in an individual, ask them open ended questions to ascertain whether they can accept that their approach is not working effectively for them and if they are willing to do something about it to help them understand what activities will help them create sales in their business and re prioritize on a daily basis. It depends on the individual; they may be willing to learn how to manage their time differently. If not, you have done the best you can do to help them.

There will be people that will just drop out, you can not help ‘save’ these people, there will be others that may just need some guidance. You can offer your help and see if they are willing to take the next step for themselves.

I was thinking of topics I could write about in this blog post for your today.

Creating valuable content for me, is like giving away precious jewellery, you love it like its your own and you know how happy it will make others so you give it away, hoping that will take care of the precious piece of jewellery like you would.
What concerned me is sometimes we look to others when we know (I’m speaking for myself as well) that there is something we need to do to fix something, when all it takes is consistent action, pure and simple to get build towards the results we want.
Did you spend more time reading your emails or on sales producing activities today? Are you reading this blog in the appropriate time you have available or are you wasting time being busy?
Do you have a standard list of sales producing activities that is a ‘must do’ for you business that you do every day rain, hail or shine? Why not?

Hi,
after an interesting couple of weeks with a tooth infection creating a puffy face, having a Dorito stuck in my throat and ending up with a virus making my so tired I feel like sleeping beauty but I’m back baby!!

I’m a little nervous today because I have my first singing gig since (geez don’t make me think about it), lets just say its been a while this coming weekend.

Does creating a change in ones considered easy? Hell no, people may claim it is but I think deep down in all of us is that part that just doesn’t want to let go.

When I started my business I made the decision to purse singing as well. Singing has always been a love of mine but I did nothing about it for so long. Now its time to put myself out there and really focus on entertaining others ‘my way’!! Life is to short not to do what you love. You only hurt yourself by holding back what you really want in life.

Its Wednesday yeah I’m nervous, and deep down something knows that there is a shift happening, there is change in the air. This performance won’t be a once off, that I will continue. I don’t expect to become the next Lady Gaga, but I want to create my own personal brand as a singer like I have with my business.

‘Ally, What’s the point’ you ask?

Its ok to feel uncomfortable and overwhelmed. :o ) In order to be the person you always have wanted to be you have to step out of your comfort zone constantly.

When a snake sheds its skin, it slides out and slithers away, never looking back. Why do we as humans want to shed our current layer of skin(create a change in our life) but want to take the old skin with us so we can hold on to something that we should let go?

I found Denis Waitely on Jim Rohn’s site and recently spent time reading his newsletter. I really enjoyed it so he is an extract from his newsletter where is summarizing the 17 Principles of Personal Achievement by Napoleon. Enjoy!!

What MLM Myth leads you to nowhere?

There is a common phrase used in MLM and network marketing circles that is a myth that could be leading you up the garden path “To get results in your MLM, you need to build your belief.” This statement does not put the main criteria for success into the equation and can leave people dishearten and unsure of what will help them be one of the people that do succeed with an online business.

The MLM myth “To get results in your MLM, you need to build your belief” may have the right intentions but its not providing you the big picture and for some people they can feel disorientated. It’s not just your belief that you need to change, the human mind is very complex and our beliefs can change but the starting point is not the belief its our daily thoughts.

How you educate yourself to think like a successful leader and the actions taken daily will help you to be successful.

Every decision you make in your life will get tested. Your products won’t show up in time, the website you requested is three weeks overdue, you can’t tell if your paid advertisements are released to the public yet and this is all outside the other part of your life. You may be juggling another job and kids on top of your business.

Your belief will be the extension of the importance you place on your ‘why’. When you set your goals and are emotionally attached to them, its your ‘why’ that will help you to pursue the entrepreneur journey and succeed.

What’s next? Are your goals big enough and emotional compelling for you to really want to achieve them with urgency? If not, now is the time to understand your goals and how to refine them to help you build your ‘why’. A great book to learn more about why your ‘why’ is so important is ‘Start With Why’ by Simon Sinek.

It’s through gaining a more intimate knowledge of your ‘why’, learning the skills necessary for your business i.e. Marketing and taking action to be successful in your business that will help you become successful.

Do you know what it feels like to have built up a team for your online business to have it reduce slowly over time? You are sure Billy sounded keen and had the right motives to start his own business and that Sally was keen as well. But sooner rather than later they make it clear that are not interested anymore and its time to take them off your Christmas card list (because you never hear from them again).

You ask yourself; ‘Is it because they didn’t get results in their first week?’,

‘Was there something I said?’

‘Was I not providing them enough training?’

There are hundreds of questions you can ask yourself and really its not in your control if Billy or Sally stays as a part of your business or leaves.
What is in your control that you can do to help you kick the impact to your income when people decide to quit their online business?
Some questions you need to ask yourself’;
Where are you gaining the most traffic to your business? Was it from Sally and Billy or your own marketing strategies?
How much manual intervention and time do you have to invest to get someone new set up?
What’s the structure of your business model? Are you receiving upfront commissions or reliant on your downline to really excel before you get to see any ‘real’ amount of money in your account?

Suggested action items;
You need at least 40 to 50 leads per day minimum to find the ‘right’ type of people for your opportunity. You may think this is high, I’m encouraging you with this number to help you build your business as quickly as you can as well as finding key new people with that are more suitable to the business.

Do you have a marketing system with various filters in place to help you discourage the ‘tire kickers?’ The benefit of a marketing system is it can provide the leads that are quite serious about starting the business enough information to help them make their decision and for the ‘tire kickers’ and the ‘get rich quick’ people it will be to much of a hassle and they won’t pursue it any longer. This helps you to only spend time on the really interested people and let your potential new team members the time to sell themselves.

And finally a business model that has high upfront commission payments help your business grow strength to strength. This reduces the impact people leaving like Billy and Sally have on your overall income. (This is the best bit:o)

To wrap up three suggestions to help you never have to worry about people leaving your team and impacting your income again, you need a business model with high upfront commission payments, a marketing system that will filter all the ‘tire kickers’ out for you and lots of your own leads to support your income.

Owning your own online business is not easy, it can take time, resources and lots of energy to get your business off the ground. This quote from Babe Ruth will help me answer the question in the title for you..

That’s the answer, there is never an appropriate time to quit. :o )
No challenge is so great that it ‘stops’ you from achieving your goals. I have a lot of people on Facebook tell me how hard it is for them and all the reasons why they will fail. How does focusing on the negatives help you achieve your goals?
So I thought, ‘how can I symbolize the type of determination and persistence for my readers to encourage them to continue on their home business journey?’
The answer my friends is ….. ‘The Terminator’.
Why ‘The Terminator’?

Having to watch the original 50+ times while my father was going through his ‘Arnie phase’ reminded me of this quote from the character “Kyle Reese”..

“That terminator is out there. It can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.”
Now don’t get to caught up in the pity, remorse, killing part ok, it’s this part I want you to hone in on…

“And it absolutely will not stop, ever”.

This is what you and I need to be, forever relentless. Every time you go and sit infront of the coach you have to ask yourself. “Have I done more today than 97% of my competitors have done?” If your honest with yourself and want to reach your goals you will get up off the coach and back infront of your computer.

You may not easily identify with The Terminator character that’s ok, do not see every challenge you see as the end of the business. If you allow yourself to be creative with your problem solving you will always find a plan b,c,d or e.

One MLM myth easily kicked to the kerb

This statement makes me cringe in my boots…
“Its all about the product. In fact, our products are so AMAZING that they practically sell themselves.”
I’m not sure how this phrase could help anyone excel in an online business; seriously this goes against the fundamentals of how a business (any business) makes money.
I wanted to pick a multi national company that could prove this wrong. The Coca-Cola Company has been operating since 1886. You may be thinking to yourself,
“Comparing The Coca-Cola Company to my online business is like comparing a canoe to The Oasis!”

Let me explain :o )
Some facts about The Coca-Cola Company;
• “5.8 billion incremental unit cases of Trademark Coca-Cola sold from 1989 to 2009”.
• Net operating revenues for Financial Year 2009 was $30,990 million.
• From Financial Year 2009 Mexico has the highest consumption per person.

Do you think the range of products offered by this company sell themselves? NO, this company continues to advertise and keep their products on the forefront of their consumers’ minds globally. They tap into what their consumers are looking for and provide this for them. Marketing their products globally has helped this company sustain continual growth. If a brand such as The Coca-Cola Company advertises regularly then how can a home based business owner achieve any type of results without marketing your products?
Learning how to market your product online will help create a virtual door to your website and bring the quality traffic you need to create sales.

Personal branding for any online business is really important to help your business stand out from the rest. How do online entrepreneurs add a new dynamic and keep your readers interested and inspired to learn more about you as time goes by?
There is crazy amount of hype around celebrities. As an online entrepreneur this is the same type of hype you need in your business. You want raving reviews, customers to share how great you are with their friends and family.People always wanting to learn what your up to.
Watching ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians’ has helped me notice how many doors of opportunities have opened for the individual members. Khloe and Kourtney have their clothes store in Miami which is constantly on the show, Kourtney has worked on a late night radio show, Kimberley has her own jewellery line (not sure if the other sisters are involved) and her modelling contracts etc and through this reality show we get to know them, which has lead me to their website several times. Kourtney and Kim’s have over 5 million followers on Twitter alone.

I don’t know about you but I am keen to get this type of spotlight on my business. What are the next steps?
This is what I think you can do to help build your own brand to superstar status;
Do you have key style in the way you dress, or accessories that represent yourself in a more memorable way?
Fake it before you make it, ensure you always have good posture, look in peoples eyes when you speak to them, listen to understand not to reply and always smile.
Is there a celebrity or someone from your own industry who’s brand really appeals to you? What are they doing that you like and attracts you to them? Write this down and start implementing this in your own business.
Is there any aspects of your personality that you have held back? Consider how appropriate they would be for your business and incorporate them in.

What Determines Success For Your Online Business?

Do you find the content you are creating for your online business is not getting the results you were aiming for? Is the feedback you receive (if any) not sufficient to get you the amount of quality leads converting to sales to get your online business humming along nicely.
