High Voltage goal setting

Do you set goals at the beginning of the year and the momentum and focus just falls away at the wayside? Is your desire for a new goal so stong that you really want to learn how to goal setting really works?

What I have personally found with goal setting is you can be focused and ‘ready to go’ and then time passes by, your attention strays to others things and at the end of the year your back where you started. A perfect example, I just found my 2009 journal containing my goals last weekend!
Why is motivation and persistence at times a long lost friend that only calls once every two months? This approach of just writing down some goals with the right intentions is not really getting the party started. (Can you imagine Donald Trump losing his goal journal and finding it a year later…I think not).

Joining a network marketing company, on the basis of “it’s such a good product” (like I almost did) is the caryard equivalent of buying a van without checking under the hood. Let me explain.

Like it or not, the primary purpose of any business, network marketing companies included, is to move product.

Similarly the primary purpose of a van is … (you guessed it) to move product.

Trouble is, most companies offer a great “looking” vehicle, but on closer inspection, the home business owner finds it doesn’t have an engine capable of driving sales. You pay your money and get your van back home — loaded to the brim with product, hopes and dreams.

You put the key into the ignition, turn it clockwise and … click … nothing … It won’t go anywhere. The van you bought won’t move, let alone move product.

It’s a shell … a souffle. All hot air. The used car salesman didn’t say anything about this?

So what do most people do?

They push their van around the block a couple of times, hoping it will somehow gather momentum.

They try putting more fuel (money) into it.

But it doesn’t make any difference.

In the end the clever ones realize they have to buy or build their own engine (and then cross their fingers that it works with their particular vehicle).

Meanwhile, the company puts on “rah rah” training sessions and meetings all about their “products” and their “success stories”.

Of course, they rarely mention anything useful about driving sales.

This is what you really need to know.

The core problem here is this. When looking for an opportunity, most people only focus on the product or service they will be selling. This is natural and understandable (the companies bank on that). But it is a HUGE mistake.

There are some incredible products out there. There’s no doubt about that.

But the product is only half the equation.

If you don’t believe me try ordering a pallet of any product in the world.

Have it delivered to your garage. Are you rich yet?

Of course not.

It won’t move itself. It needs to be marketed (no matter how good it is). And no amount of affirmations, no law of attraction, no “awakening” or “abundance mentality” is going to shift that sucker.

You see, the most important — and the most often overlooked — criteria for choosing a business opportunity is being able to crawl under the hood and check that it has a powerful and automated sales and marketing machine.

Without an engine to drive sales, most home business owners quickly find themselves at the side of the road — alongside the rusted out wrecks of the 97% of other independent distributors whose dreams stalled.

And you know what the real tragedy is? Those 97% of people never realise what went wrong. No-one tells them you need an engine to drive a home business. They blame themselves for not “pushing the van” hard enough. “Maybe if I’d done another lap of the block, another meeting, bought more leads, listened to more training calls?”

They never realize that the bright and shiny “shell on wheels” they were sold was never going to get out of first gear.

And that it wasn’t their fault.

Meanwhile the companies and their “heavy hitters” ignore the wreckage — somehow managing to put it to the back of their minds, as they welcome a new round of eager members ready and willing to test drive a shiny new van.

When twitter was first released I had the perception that Twitter was only for celebrities and their fans, people that were dying to know what Paris Hilton or Ashton Kutcher were up to. OK, I may be guilty of following Kim Kardashian ok, give me a break!! :o )

Twitter is all about being social with the focus on sending short messages to a group of ‘followers’, a great way to increase your number of followers is to find people with similar interests or if someone has selected to follow you, you follow them back in return and start the conversation.
The topics you send in your messages or ‘tweats’ are all about you, your interests, funny stuff you have found on the net and/or inspirational quotes. Through being yourself you attract like-minded people and your followers build over time.
If your serious of becoming an entrepreneur its great to connect to people you aspire to be to get a daily does of inspiration. I searched for Tony Robbins as soon as I created a profile. Every inspirational quote or blog creates a little more value in my life, which I am very grateful for.

Day 7: “Nine Keys to Choosing the Right Company — a Company That Can Provide $1,000-$100,000 A Month Residual Income in Less than 12 Months”

Online businesses are no different to normal brick and mortar businesses. If you do your due diligence and follow a simple game plan, you’ll find a business that is the right fit for you. Here are the crucial questions you need answers to…

  1. An Unselfish Mission: Is the Company involved in any charities or programs to help others? Is the company doing something to benefit others in the future? Do they understand the universal principal of “what goes around comes around” or are they just in it for a quick buck? You’ve got to have a mission that puts the success of others first. Remember, helping other people to get what they want is the key to getting what you want. Look at the leadership of the company. Are the leaders people of integrity?

  2. A Go-Ahead Industry: Direct Sales via Network Marketing. No other business model offers so much potential with so few barriers to entry (like start-up costs).

  3. A Fair Compensation Plan: Direct Sales rules, but only if it has a residual income based compensation plan. Stay away from the ‘two-up’ compensation plan found in most direct sales companies. This compensation plan is not fair and does not harbor team spirit because your over-rides on partners is limited to their first two customers.


    Off-course, “fair” means different things to different people but the bottom line is that if you are going to be marketing a product for commission, you want to be earning a high commission bonus upfront as well as a residual income on the back end. Most compensation plans either have high upfront income and low residuals, or the other way round, with low upfront income and high residuals.


    You need to find a company with an equal balance of the two. 

Why is this so important when searching for a home-based business? When you start out in a new business, unless you have a great deal of capital behind you to “tide you over”, you will need to make high upfront commissions. Because otherwise you will find it impossible to build momentum.

  4. Products That Are In Demand & Can Stand-Alone: The long term profitability and viability of any company will be determined by the actual value of the products being sold. Remove the business opportunity and step back and examine the product on its own merits and ask yourself: “Would I want this product, would this product benefit me (or anyone else for that matter) if it didn’t have a business opportunity attached?” If you can’t honestly say that the product would be of value to you for its own sake then you are, in effect, selling buckets of air. And this means that the product is going to have a very short lifespan, because no one really wants it.


    Forty percent of the products promoted by CarbonCopyPro are sold to product customers only, i.e. people not looking for a business opportunity. If the product being marketed won’t stand on its own, in other words if no one would buy it without the money-making incentive, then it’s not the right product.

 Almost every day, new companies which are simply copying other companies spring out of nowhere.


    Example: Does the world really need another weight loss or vitamin company? Are people crying out for another juice from a berry found only at the base of the Himalayas? The reality is “no”, because the marketplace is already flooded with this type of product. Plus, you’ll be competing against companies which have had products on the market for 50 or 60 years.

 So what you need to find is a product that is unique and hard to copy. Because if it isn’t hard to copy, someone else will come along and try to replicate it very quickly.

  5. A Worthy Mentor: Find a mentor. Someone you can trust. Someone who has a system. Someone who is already getting the results you’re looking for. This has to be someone who is willing to listen to your needs and actually cares about your success. He/she must also have a financial interest in your success.

  6. Turnkey Duplicatable Marketing System: Use an Attraction Marketing system that does the sorting, selling, training, and follow-up for you. This system must not only attract (right keywords, ads etc) the right type of person (entrepreneur vs get-rich-quick lottery mentality), but be able to present the information in such a way that is clear, concise, to the point and not full of hype fluff or crazy promises.


    Then figure out how to get 100-200 QUALITY targeted prospects into your marketing pipeline EACH week. (Remember, there are close to a million people looking for businesses every week and 79 million people in the USA alone plan to start their own business in the next 3-5 years!)

  7. Boot Camp Day 6: “How to turn leads 
into paying customers”

Ahhh… This is one of our favorite topics.

Ironically, it’s the most important because it’s when products are purchased, value is exchanged, and money is made. Voila…you have a business.

Yet, the average home business owner fails to capitalize on 90% of their business’s profit potential, because they have no idea how to handle this stage correctly.

Want to know what to say to your leads?

Wish you knew how to follow up with them correctly for maximum profits and results?

Then read today’s issue closely.

I’m sure you remember the 3-step formula we gave you in Day #1…

  • Build a list.
  • Build a relationship with that list.
  • Market to that list.

Repeat, repeat, repeat!

Well we’re at stages 2 and 3 today, and they are intimately linked. You cannot consistently make sales in stage 3, if you failed to build a relationship in stage 2. You’ll find that 3% to 10% of your prospects just get it. The time is right for them. They’ve pro-actively gone through all of the information and they’re ready to become a part of the team immediately.

As for the rest, it’s a matter of timing. And this is where the average person drops the ball. They usually end up treating prospects as a perishable commodity with a very short shelf-life. They get a quick “yes or no” answer and then move onto the next.

Well you’ve always heard that fortune is in the follow up, and that phrase couldn’t be more true….

The follow up is where you find your leverage.


Let us give you an illustration of what I mean…


Let’s say that you generate 10 leads per day, or 300 per month.

Of those 300, 3% buy the low-tier product right away for $1,995, paying you a $1,000 commission. That comes out to 9 customers and $9,000 in commissions your first month. Not bad.

Well, as you continue to build a relationship with your leads, the timing will become right for another 3% in month two. If you already have 300 leads in our pipeline from month 1, and now you’re going to add another 300 for month two, bringing your prospect list total to 600.

Once again, 3% of your new leads will get started right away, giving you 9 new customers again in month two. But now an additional 3% from your previous month will decide to buy the product due to your follow-up efforts, which gives you an additional 9 customers for a total of 18, and commissions of $18,000.

You get our point…

But the real money is always made on the back-end in ANY business, and once again, it’s no different here. You see, about 40% of all low-tier customers will eventually become high-tier customers because they love the product and see the incredible earnings potential it provides.

Depending on your positioning, you make up to a $5,000 commission on each high-tier sale. So if 40% of your 27 low-tier customers become high-tier customers, you stand to make an additional $54,000 in profits from the customers you’ve already acquired.

And this process continues month after month as your prospect pipeline grows from 300 to 600 to 900 to 1,200 to 1,500, etc.

Alright, so on to Part II of today’s lesson…

What do you do with your prospects as you generate them?

Well our philosophy is pretty simple.

We’re not here to personally to ‘pitch and sell’ people. Our marketing system does the selling and telling for us. If someone doesn’t see the incredible value in the products and business opportunity, there’s nothing we can say or do to change their mind, nor would we want to waste our time doing so.

Were not here to twist arms. We’re here to provide information so that our prospects can make the best decision for themselves.

As you begin your business, your most important job is to personally contact each of your applicants (people who have put their hand up to take a closer look at your business) just to introduce yourself and to see how you can possibly serve their needs. This isn’t a sales call, and your only real agenda is to get to know the person on the other end of the line. We find that the more information we can supply applicants with (by way of additional resources – NOT convincing), the higher our conversion rate is, and the better quality our new members are. If an applicant cannot be bothered to even read the information we send them, and listen to the introduction calls that are conducted for them, they are unlikely to make a go of a business. And they are not the type of people we would choose to do business with.

If you walk into this business with a confident and genuine desire to help people, everything else will take care of itself and people will clamor to work with you because they will trust that you have their best interests at heart.

Once that initial call is made, the ball is really in their court. We don’t chase people, and we usually don’t schedule follow-up appointments. Beautiful, isn’t it?

If our prospects want to talk to us further, they contact us themselves. Who contacts who is a fairly important dynamic in this process.

Spending a few bucks learning how to advertise effectively on Google will pay for itself hundreds of times over and prevent you paying the “stupid tax” on online advertising.

Automating your marketing using free marketing methods is more of a challenge but the good news is that with a concerted effort at the outset your marketing efforts will continue to generate leads weeks, months and years down the road.

While Google Adwords is instantaneous and can generate leads for you within 15 minutes, free marketing can take longer and requires more elbow grease. Yet, unlike Google, which stops your exposure the second you shut off your campaign, the free marketing methods we’re about to cover here will put a permanent marker on the net, and your results will increase with time.

On the other hand, professionals, work smarter and they leverage their efforts through marketing.

Professionals don’t ‘pitch’. They “attract”.

Boot Camp Day 3: How to avoid the “Stupid Tax” of online advertising

We’ve had more than a few people ask us about our marketing techniques. And their common concern was a lack of “know-how” when it comes to online advertising. We know that was one of our biggest concerns so we’d like to spend today addressing them for you.

You see, make no mistake, the Internet charges what we refer to as a “stupid tax” when it comes to online marketing.
